WordCraft is a private, open-source word processor from ArtCraft for everyday writing and document editing. It works in a web browser without an account and is also available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD for offline use.
Features include familiar ribbon tools, formatting, styles, tables, navigation, spelling and grammar support, references, citations, footnotes, indexes, captions, themes, page layout, watermarks, borders, automatic hyphenation, and support for opening and saving .docx files. It can import and export .doc, .odt, .rtf, .html, .md, .tex, and .txt, and export searchable PDFs.
Writing and editing run locally, with no subscription, account, or mandatory cloud upload. The project is released under the MIT or Apache-2.0 license and provides scriptable commands through its ribbon, command-line interface, JSON control channel, and MCP server.
